Survey on Phthalates in Beer Packaged in Aluminum Cans, PET and Glass Bottles

Phthalates are known as endocrine disruptors and common in plastic polymers, varnishes, printing inks. However, they most often enter the human body through food. Plastic materials that hold food contain different chemicals, phthalates one of them. can also be found microplastics since microplastic particles serve a vector for chemicals slowly released into beverages. The aim this preliminary study was to determine concentration types (dimethyl phthalate, diethyl diisobutyl dibutyl bis (2-ethylhexyl) di-n-octyl-phthalate) beer packaged aluminum cans, PET, glass bottles. Ten aluminum-canned beers, sixteen PET-packaged, eighteen glass-bottled beers were bought at local store subjected GC–MS analysis quantify qualify phthalates. results indicate PET-packaged significant amounts phthalates; sample P10, total sum reached 219.82 µg/L. Especially high concentrations phthalate all samples, but highest detected P13 92.17 canned showed even higher levels certain phthalates, such which amounted 326.81 µg/L C1.
